Dec. 21, 2011 | 0 comments

Kate O'Gara and Kenny Shirley of New York City were married Sept. 16, 2011, in Manhattan.

Parents of the bride are Jim and Carrie O'Gara of Falls Church, Va., originally of Galway, Ireland. The groom's parents are Bill and Judy Shirley of Fox Point.

Eleanor Shirley of Washington, D.C., the groom's sister, was a bridesmaid.

Rishi Chhabria of London, formerly of Fox Point, was the groom's best man.

The bride grew up in Ireland and earned a business degree from University of Limerick before moving to New York in 2006. She is the senior manager of consumer insights at VEVO, the music video website.

The groom, a 1999 graduate of Nicolet High School, earned degrees from Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania, with post-doctoral studies at Columbia University. He works as a statistics researcher at AT&T Labs.

The couple plans to remain a while in New York City, where the groom is teaching the bride to root for the Brewers and the Packers.
